TUMAINI DIRTY TOILETS POSES HEALTH RISKS TO STUDENTS

Students at Tumaini University,Mikocheni have been complaining due to  the dirty toilets at the campus. this situation is a threat to students' health.

A week can pass  with ought the toilets to be cleaned, the dustbins are always full especially in ladies toilets and the tanks don't have water in many occasions. Students have been wondering why no water while one of the reasons that the school fees have rosed from 1.5 to 2.5 millions.

The unclean toilets generates a very unpleasant smell. The bad small have increased the complains since it inters in the classrooms which are very near to the toilets when students are being taught.and because of it,  students lose their concentration during their class sessions and disturbs those who are studying privately outside the classes. Diseases like dysentery, diarrhea. fungus and UTI's to girls can attack the students anytime.

When the minister of Health, Beatrice Ojiki was asked, she said that she will seat to it and make sure the toilets are cleaned everyday.

IS THIS FAIR?

Students at Tumaini, Mikocheni campus are being taught outside the classes. This is caused by several things. The  absence of  empty classes for students to be lectured.  The number of  students are so many therefore the classes are always full. Another reason is excessive heat in the classrooms. The heat is becoming severe because of few numbers of fans. Some classes have only one fan, others are there but not working, and some fans produce very disturbing noises.

Another reason as to why lecturers decide to lecture outside the classes is the bad smell from toilets and toilet chambers. With the smell and the heat in the classes, lecture sessions cant continue well. Is it fair for Students who pay 2.5 millions?
